1.74 premium index lens: made of MR-174 monomer from Mitsui (Japan).
Recommended for some prescriptions with a power of higher than plus or minus 6 diopter. This is a very general guideline; much depends on your specific prescription and the size and shape of your chosen frame.
In general, we do not recommend this lens for powers less than plus or minus 6 diopter. This lens tends to have a very flat front surface, which is not aways cosmetically pleasing. Broadly speaking, the 1,74 lens will only be required in exceptional cases. Most often, the much less expensive (and mechanically better) 1.67 lens will suffice.
Please use our unique 3D lens viewer to choose among the available lenses and determine for yourself which lens offers you the best weight/thinness combination, based on your prescription and chosen frame.
Appropriate for all frame styles.
Lenses come standard with Cristiline® Advanced complete coating package.

Adnuo® SV DRP lenses are fully personalized single vision lenses. DRP stands for "Digital Ray Path", which means that each pixel on the lens surface has been machined uniquely for your prescription, frame shape and distance between the eye and the lens. This is called "fully personalized".
Since Adnuo® SV DRP lenses are produced individually for you using expensive software and sophisticated machines (as opposed to stock lenses, which are produced in batches of 1,000's), the cost is significantly higher than a stock or an Optimo lens.
For discerning users, the DRP technology for single vision lenses is highly recommended.
Visiero® Balanced progressive lenses: produced using the most modern back surface freeform design and manufacturing technology. This top of the line technology results in progressive lenses that are significantly better than the traditional "RX" progressive lenses that date back to the previous century.
The Visiero® Balanced design seeks a compromise between far, intermediate and near viewing zones.
This design is not a fully personalized design and as such can be offered at a great price. Expect to pay very high prices for these same type lenses in any shop.
These lenses are produced using expensive software and sophisticated machines. Considering what all is involved and the high quality of these lenses, the price is truly amazing.
Adnuo® SV anti-fatigue DRP 050 lenses are single vision lenses meant for users in the 20 - 35 age range with a busy and intensive life. DRP stands for "Digital Ray Path", which means that each pixel on the lens surface has been machined uniquely for your prescription, frame shape and distance between the eye and the lens.
Many task are performed which call for a mix of far, intermediate and near vision. As the eye needs to continuously focus and re-focus, too much can be demanded from the eye, resulting in irritated eyes, headaches and muscle aches.
Adnuo® SV anti-fatigue DRP lenses are single vision lenses, which have a very low +0.5 diopter addition in the bottom of the lenses. These lenses can be ordered using your single vision prescription (no separate visit to have your eyes re-checked is required).
Please note that this is not a progressive lens; it is a single vision lens with a bit of support for the near viewing area.
Adnuo® SV anti-fatigue DRP 075 lenses are single vision lenses meant for users in the 35 - 48 year range with a busy and intensive life. DRP stands for "Digital Ray Path", which means that each pixel on the lens surface has been machined uniquely for your prescription, frame shape and distance between the eye and the lens.

Visiero® Near-DRP progressive lenses are produced using the most modern back surface freeform design and manufacturing technology. This technology is top of the line and results in progressive lenses that are significantly better than the traditional "RX" progressive lenses that date back to the previous century.
DRP stands for "Digital Ray Path", which means that each pixel on the lens surface has been machined uniquely for your prescription, frame shape and distance between the eye and the lens. This is called "fully personalized".
The Near DRP design has a slightly bigger near vision zone. Since a progressive lens is always a compromise between the various zones on a very small piece of plastic, the far vision zone is a little smaller.
For people who need a balanced progressive lens, but who would prefer just that extra bit of near vision area.
Visiero® Balanced-DRP progressive lenses are produced using the most modern back surface freeform design and manufacturing technology. This technology is top of the line and results in progressive lenses that are significantly better than the traditional "RX" progressive lenses that date back to the previous century.

For people who need a balanced progressive lens, but who would prefer that extra bit of far vision area.
Visiero® Balanced - DRP-S progressive lenses are intended for use by novice progressive users. The S stands for "soft design". This soft design makes it easier for novic progressive wearers to get used to the progressive lens design.
However, we do not recommend this design for experienced users. They are better served with a "hard design" which provides wider viewing areas.
The Visiero® Balanced - DRP-S is produced using the most modern back surface freeform design and manufacturing technology. DRP stands for "Digital Ray Path", which means that each pixel on the lens surface has been machined uniquely for your prescription, frame shape and distance between the eye and the lens. This is called "fully personalized".
This technology is top of the line and results in progressive lenses that are significantly better than the traditional "RX" progressive lenses that date back to the previous century.
The Visiero® Balanced - DRP-S design is a design that seeks a compromise between far, intermediate and near viewing zones.
Visiero® dSport-DRP is a lens for use in sports or other outdoor activities where the user needs optimum distance and intermediate viewing abilities.
The Visiero® dSport-DRP is produced using the most modern back surface freeform design and manufacturing technologies. This technology is top of the line and results in progressive lenses that are significantly better than the traditional "RX" progressive lenses that date back to the previous century.
The Visiero® dSport-DRP design is a design that provides an uncompromised emphasis on the distance and intermediate viewing zones. The near (reading zone) is very small in this lens design; it can be used with some care, but it is clear that this lens is made for outdoor/sports enthusiasts.
The difference between this design and the iSport-DRP is that this design has slightly more emphasis on distance vision than the iSport-DRP.
Visiero® Sport-I-DRP is a lens for use in sports or other outdoor activities where the user needs optimum intermediate and distance viewing abilities.
The Visiero® Sport-D-DRP is produced using the most modern back surface freeform design and manufacturing technologies. This technology is top of the line and results in progressive lenses that are significantly better than the traditional "RX" progressive lenses that date back to the previous century.
The Visiero® Sport-D-DRP design is a design that provides an uncompromised emphasis on the intermediate and distance viewing zones. The near (reading zone) is very small in this lens design; it can be used with some care, but it is clear that this lens is made for outdoor/sports enthusiasts.

Visiero® Office is a progressive Office/Computer/Occupational/Hobby lens with optimal viewing in a circle of maximum 4 meters/13 feet around you.
This is the ideal lens for people who do a lot of work in their office, or for work at close range. Intermediate (up to 4 meters/13 feet) and near vision are unsurpassed.
The Visiero® OFFICE does not have a far vision zone, so cannot not be used for any activities that require distance vision (such as driving, playing tennis, etc.).
Visiero® Business-DRP is a progressive lens for activities that mainly require near/intermediate viewing, but also occasional use of the distance vision zone.
DRP stands for "Digital Ray Path", which means that each pixel on the lens surface has been machined uniquely for your prescription, frame shape and distance between the eye and the lens. This is called "fully personalized".
This lens design is different from the Visiero® Office in that the Business-DRP does have a small zone for distance viewing. Since a progressive lens is a compromise between viewing zones on a small piece of plastic, the Business-DRP has less viewing area for intermediate and near than the Visiero® Office.
The distance zone can be used to see people on the other end of the isle, or for seeing the screen and the speaker in a large meeting room.
This lens is also recommended for activities with frequent changes between near/intermediate and distance viewing, as long as the glasses are mainly used for near and intermediate work, and distance vision is being used less.
This lens should not be used for activities that require permanent use of the far viewing zone, such as driving.
Adnuo D-style bifocal lenses have a 'D' shaped reading segment in the bottom part of the lens. The top part of the segment is flat, and the rest is round shaped to the bottom.
The segment width of the reading area is 28 mm at the top.
The lines in this type of bifocal lens are clearly noticeable to the person looking at the wearer. Each bifocal lens is machined individually to ensure the thinnest possible lens for your prescription and chosen frame.
Visible round segment bifocal lenses have a round shaped reading segment in the bottom part of the lens.
The segment width of the reading area is 28mm in the middle.
The lines in this type of bifocal lens are clearly noticeable to the person looking at the wearer. Each bifocal lens is machined individually to ensure the thinnest possible lens for your prescription and chosen frame.
Invisible round segment bifocal lenses have a round shaped reading segment in the bottom part of the lens.

The lines in this type of bifocal lens are much less noticeable to the person looking at the wearer. Each bifocal lens is machined individually to ensure the thinnest possible lens for your prescription and chosen frame.
1.50 index lenses are made of a monomer called CR-39. It is great basic lens with very good visual acuity (high Abbe value). However, the mechanical properties of this 1.50 index lens are somewhat poor.
It is a great lens in a full rim frame where the lens is supported on all sides, but in a rimless frame the CR-39 material is prone to cracking.
You will find that most optical stores (and optical websites which truly understand lenses) do not recommend the 1.50 index lenses for rimless frames.
For use in a rimless frame, we recommend you select an appropriate lens material for this frame style. We recommend any of our lens materials, except 1.50 or 1.57 index lenses for rimless frames.

1.74 index lenses are not recommended for tinting.
The monomer used for the production of these lenses results in a surface that does not allow an even absorption of the tinting dye.
It would be best to select a 1.67 index lens for the thinnest tinted lens we have available.
Since you need a frame to fit a progressive lens which requires a minimum height of __ mm, we offer the following suggestions:
If you do not want to change the shape and/or size of the lens as shown in the frame picture: search for a frame with a lens height of at least __ mm.
In case a slight change to the lens height or shape is acceptable, then it is ideal to search for rimless or semi-rimless frames. Our lab technicians will be able to slightly modify the lens dimensions, so your preferred progressive lens will fit perfectly. In that case, search for:

This lens is not available for the values in your prescription. Hence we suggest you select a lens which will accomodate your prescription.
We do not recommend this lens for your prescription, as it will most probably become too thick to be esthetically pleasing. It is better to select a higher index lens. This will result in a thinner lens, which is what most customer prefer.
20 Reasons: pop-ups on home page
The 1.74 index is a premium high index lens. Unfortunately, the material of the 1.74 index lens is somewhat brittle. It is a great lens in a full rim frame where the lens is supported on all sides. But in a rimless frame, the 1.74 material is prone to cracking. You will find that most optical stores (and optical websites which truly understand lenses) do not recommend the 1.74 index lenses for rimless frames.
If you want to select a rimless frame, then we recommend you select an appropriate lens material for this frame style. We recommend any of our lens materials, except 1.50, 1.57 or 1.74 index lenses for rimless frames.
Polycarbonate is a material with a closed structure. This makes it difficult to absorb any tint dyes. This is why most websites do not offer tinted polycarbonate lenses.
Since Visio-Rx has very modern lens coating equipment at its lab, we are able to apply a special coating, which will absorb the tint. That makes it possible to supply tinted polycarbonate lenses.
A better choice would be to order our Xirm or Trivex lenses. These have the same shatter resistance as polycarbonate, have much better optical qualities and offer a deeper tint absorbtion (into the material itself, as opposed to just a thin coating layer).
The choice is yours, however.
Tint can be solid (same color intensity on entire lens) or gradient (darker at the top, lighter towards the bottom).
Upon selecting this lens, you will be prompted to choose color, color intensity and solid or gradient tinting.

This is called "fully personalized".

1.61 index lenses comply with the FDA regulations regarding impact resistance (i.e. a 5/8" steel ball dropped from 50 inches).
However, for certain sports activities or for use by youth/children, it is best practice to recommend lens materials which have enhanced shatter resistance.
The available lens materials are polycarbonate, Trivex and Xirm.
Unfortunately, for bifocals we do not carry materials with enhanced shatter resistance. You could try switching to a progressive lens as these are available in all materials.
The Reflect Control technology behind NightDrive is a trend-setting breakthrough which provides a unique combination of lens coating and design. It minimizes intrusive effects of different light sources in the dark (e.g. oncoming traffic; street lighting) and provides an image with much better and more dynamic contrast. „NightDrive“ reduces undesirable reflection by 57% compared to standard anti-reflection lenses. During the day NightDrive lenses perform as well as any multi-layer anti-reflection lens and during the night it performs twice as well. Thanks to the wide viewing zones, the new technology helps ensure that drivers have good all round visibility.

Please select your case. Or, for just a little more, select an exclusive upgraded case. The standard cases are of excellent quality. There are no ugly logos on the outside, so you can proudly use these and show them to your friends. For the fashionistas, we have a selection of cases with spectacular finishes. The add-on prices are very affordable and you'll be stealing the show with any of these. Would you like to order extra cases to replace some that are worn out, or maybe to show off the nice upgraded designs we offer? The prices are unbelievable - just compare us to specialized cases websites. And remember: S&H is a fixed amount for your entire order, so there are no hidden charges when adding an extra case to your order. |
Please select your cleaning cloth in a few standard colors. Or for just a little more, select an upgraded cloth. The standard cloth is high quality microfiber measuring 16 * 19cm (6.5" * 7.5"). You will be pleasantly surprised by the ease with which the cloth will clean your lenses (much better than the vast majority of the cleaning cloths you'll get in a store or from other websites). For more discerning users, we offer an upgrade to a larger cloth of 17 * 23cm (6.8" * 9.2") of even higher quality microfiber. These upgrades come in 2 versions:
We are confident you will be satisfied with any of the cleaning cloths you will receive from Visio-Rx. |
Please select your tool: A handy 3-in-1 tool to do simple repairs on your frame. The tool comes in 3 spectacular colors, yours to choose. Your friends will ask you what it is - it looks that special. And it doubles as a convenient keyring as well. So why not order a few extra? Another Visio-Rx.com quality extra at a great price. Do not forget to take a look at our short videos to lend a helping hand, should you need any small repairs on a frame. |
Cords: convenient, classy and elegant to keep your glasses securely within reach when you are not using them, or to keep them snugly in place while exercising or playing sports. As you can see, we have a large collection to choose from, so you can rest assured that you have something special. And, as always, great quality at an unbeatable price. |
Visor clips: a handy clip to hang your new (sun)glasses from your car's sun visor. Inexpensive and convenient; no more looking for your glasses while driving, and your glasses are in a secure and scratch free spot. Various colors to choose from at a very affordable price. |
Want more comfort for your new frame? Order 10 nose pads (If you select quantity 1, we will send you 5 pairs). Standard nose pads on frames are almost always hard plastic. This is the same for both expensive designer frames you buy in a shop, and for less expensive frames on the web. Silicone nose pads are much softer and make your frame more comfortable to wear, but it's rather expensive to order these in a shop. Nose pads usually last anywhere from 3 - 6 months before they discolor and need to be changed. They cost almost nothing at Visio-Rx and will allow you the freedom to change your nose pads yourself (see here for a tutorial). When ordering spares, we will change the plastic pads on your new frame to silicone as well. |
Since you ordered a rimless frame, our lab technicians can handcraft an incredible finish on the rim of your lenses. We call this our Diamond Fantasy Cut. This is a very rare finish, and unlike anything you will see coming from brick and mortar shops. We would not recommend this special diamond cut on glasses for daily use. The large "cut" sides of the lenses are not coated and therefore more prone to scratches. And the special cut can in some conditions produce more reflections. Yet, as a glamorous pair of glasses for special occasions, this lens cut is spectacular. |
Almost everybody can use some extra key rings. Why not stock up on a few nice ones at a very advantageous price? These are lobster claw key rings with an attachment made from flexible, durable, rubber material which displays colored logos on a distinguished, creatively shaped background. Easy to use. Convenient to have a few in reserve. |
Why not add a few spare threads, whether clear or colored? The lenses in your semi-rimless frame are supported by a thin thread, which sits in a groove in the bottom part of your lens. The wire is quite sturdy, but can on occasion break. Would you like to order some spare threads? Or order a few additional ones in different colors, so you make subtle changes to the way your glasses look. These are sure to make your glasses 100% unique. Yet another upgrade rarely found in shops. |
Our lenses come standard with anti-scratch and anti-reflection coatings. We offer these options to further upgrade your lens coatings: 1. Cristiline Armorcoat Premium, which adds a high quality super-hydrophobic and anti-smudge layer to your lenses. This is a great way to add more protection and ease of cleaning to your glasses. 2. Blue-X: a clear lens which reduces harmful blue light by 20 - 25% 3. Blue-R: a 20% yellow tinted lens which reduces 100% of harmful blue light during computer work. 4. NightDrive Gold for use in traffic at night. This coating reduces annoying halo's and reflections from car head and tail lights, traffic lights and street lights. Here at Visio-Rx you can have a top of the line coating added to your lenses for a fraction of what shops would charge for this. |
Want to make a colorful impression? Change the color of your thread. The lenses in your semi-rimless frame are supported by a thin thread, which sits in a groove in the bottom part of your lens. Normally this is a transparent thread. Changing this to a colored one is a subtle change to the way your glasses look. These are sure to make your glasses 100% unique. For a small amount you can really make your new frame stand out. This is an upgrade rarely offered in shops. |
Your frame will accomodate laser engraving, which is a neat feature to personalize your frame. You can choose which words you would like engraved on your frame, whether it's your name, your birthday, your anniversary, your favorite short quote, your zodiac sign, etc. And with 6 fonts to choose from, the possibilities are endless! Laser engraving is limited to 10 characters. Also ideal for kids as it makes identifying their frame so much easier. |
A truly unique cleaning cloth? Use your own picture. Upload your own picture. We will print this on both sides of our high quality micro-fiber cleaning cloth (measuring 17cm x 23 cm). Get something nobody has - your own fully personalized cleaning cloth. New glasses are fun - so why not spice them up with that little extra? |
